Park at the main parking area for Kootenay Pass – the Bridal Lake Day Rest area, and cross the road. Follow the main path towards the Ripple Ridge and Lightening Strike cabins. At the highpoint, cut right and head up Lightening Strike Ridge (aka Ripple Ridge). Follow this ridge for awhile. The east and west glades, as well as the north chutes all come off this ridge. If you’re heading further, you will come to a set of bluffs. It’s possible to navigate around these bluffs by continuing south down the ridge a short ways. The exit generally follows the drainage from twin lakes, but cuts right before it gets steep. After making the right, continue heading east until you hit the main uptrack to the cabins. If you are only skiing the muffin, the same exit route from twin lakes can be used to access the Muffin/Twin Lakes.
