Storm Mountain

Located across from Mt. Arethusa, the north facing slope of Storm Mountain can be a good option for early season laps.  The view of larch trees turning golden is a bonus if snow arrives early enough (not to be confused with Storm Mountain in Kootenay National Park).

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Park at the Mt.Arethusa/Little Arethusa trailhead (if clear of snow) or at the Highwood Pass main lot 1km north. Follow the Arethusa Cirque trail up the creek for the first 700m or so. Gradually turning right, gain the bench near the treeline and navigate through the boulderfield towards the north face of Storm Mountain. Make swithbacks to climb and ski the fan. The couloir above the fan can be skied given the right conditions.
