A fun north-facing couloir at Boom Lake. Quite steep near the top. Be mindful of the cornice that typically sits at the top of this one.
Park at Boom Lake Day Use Area, just south of Storm Mountain Lodge. Early in the season, it’s usually best to follow the hiking trail to the lake, however if there is sufficient snow coverage, following the creek is more direct and quicker. At the the east end of the lake, you’ll find the Kindergarten Couloir. Lookers right of the fan, there is a patch of Chistmas trees leading up to the base of the couloir. Make your way up these trees until it’s time to bootpack.
Note: Be mindful of the cornice usually sitting at the top of the couloir.
